Until. . .One evening, Boo Bear heard a cry from the hallway. Christopher had taken a tumble, and his poor knee was badly bruised and scraped. Although the injury was not serious, it was seriously upsetting to Christopher. After Momma tended his wound, Christopher reached for the only thing to console him–his beloved Boo Bear! Momma tucked them both into bed, brought them their favorited graham crackers and malted milk, and read them a story. The friends snuggled under the covers and comforted one another, each recovering from his recent trauma, and drifted into peaceful slumber.

Boo Bear had a new understanding of his friendship with Christopher. His Boy would grow and need to leave Boo Bear’s side at times–for shiny new Whiffle Geysers, as well as sports, school, clubs and many wondrous things to come. But Boo Bear knows that he and Christopher belong to each other, and each holds a special and important place in the other’s heart.

The end (or perhaps the beginning?!)
