….continued
When Finn turned to head up the street, he was surprised to see Jack already standing under the lamp post. “How did you get here so fast??!!”
Jack chuckled–“I was hiding practically at home base–right under that big tree by the light”.
Finn was shocked to hear that jack hadn’t been with him in the woods. Who had spoken to him?!?
When all the players arrived at the lamp post, Finn told them of his strange experience, and Jack confirmed he was nowhere near the woods. Convinced of both her brothers’ sincerity, Abby suggested investigating, in case someone needed help. They all grabbed their flashlights and went to search the wooded area where Finn had heard the whispering voice. After thoroughly searching and finding nothing amiss, the group was ready to attribute the encounter to a simple case of the jitters…
Until…

…Finn’s flashlight caught the reflection of something bright and white on the ground–a bunch of fresh wildflowers tied with a white satin ribbon!
Epilogue:
Throughout that fall and into winter, the children began the tradition of saying a little prayer in memory of the young couple whenever they spoke of the legend. It’s now said that The lady of Enka Lake is no longer lost, and rests peacefully with the spirit of her beloved.
